Alec Dickinson, Communications Manager

From web content and social media posts to presentations and outreach campaigns, the Communication Manager works with Lomakatsi’s Directors and Managers to inform partners, donors, and the public about events, projects, and programs at Lomakatsi.

Before joining the Lomakatsi team, Alec worked as a journalist in the National Public Radio network, covering natural resource policy and politics in his home state of Alaska beginning in 2005. Alec stepped away from both reporting and Alaska in 2009 to teach English at a bilingual school in Monterrey, Mexico and to raise his young family. Alec worked as a technical writer at the Rogue Valley-based software company Plexis Healthcare Systems and as a freelance journalist covering politics for the Ashland Daily Tidings and writing feature stories for the Medford Mail Tribune, The Talent News and Review, and the Medford Sneak Preview.

Alec holds a BA in English Composition and a Master’s Degree in Education, both from Southern Oregon University. He is a passionate outdoorsperson and can be found running, rafting, snowboarding and hiking with his wife and two children in the beautiful Rogue Valley.
