Last Friday, Lomakatsi helped host a Community Tour with U.S. Forest Service- Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative, The Nature Conservancy in Oregon, and other members of Rogue Forest Partners to this collaborative forest restoration project in the Applegate Valley. The group visited two of the ecological commercial thinning units, and discussed the value of this work for improving forest health and reducing the risk of severe wildfire to the ecosystem and communities.
