Lomakatsi was honored for the invitation to present with Columbia Land Trust to a full house at the World Forestry Center Forest Pub event in Portland, OR yesterday evening. Lomakatsi’s Executive Director Marko Bey and Tribal Partnerships Director Belinda Brown were excited to join our close partner East Cascades Oak Partnership Manager Lindsay Cornelius from Columbia Land Trust for a timely discussion about the importance of reintroducing fire to our landscapes and to share how collaboration with tribes, federal and state agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations is key to advancing ecosystem and community resilience. Lomakatsi shared success stories about our long-term partnerships with tribal communities and federal agencies to advance forest health across ancestral lands, while integrating workforce development programs to build capacity for ecological stewardship and the return of cultural fire.
