Klamath Tribal Members Work with Lomakatsi
on Ecosystem Restoration Projects in the Ashland Creek Watershed
Leaders of the Klamath Tribes Natural Resources Department, Lomakatsi Restoration Project and the US Forest Service, Fremont-Winema National Forest, jointly announced a collaborative partnership on May 17, 2011, The partnership aims to expand employment and advanced workforce training opportunities in forest and watershed restoration for members of the Klamath Tribes.
- During this phase of the project, Lomakatsi has hired, employed, and provided advanced ecosystem restoration workforce training over a 5 month period for twelve Klamath Tribal members from Chiloquin and Klamath Falls. A total of $300,000 of federal, state and private funding sources will support this phase of advanced workforce training and employment.
