Lomakatsi receives “Partners in Conservation” Award from the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., October 19, 2012
Lomakatsi’s Executive Director Marko Bey received a National award in Washington DC from the Department of the Interior for Lomakatsi and our partnership’s effort to restore oak ecosystems as part of the Central Umpqua-Mid-Klamath Oak Habitat Conservation Project partnership. Primary partners consist of Lomakatsi, private landowners, Klamath Bird Observatory, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and US Fish and Wildlife Service. This cutting edge project is a success story in holistic ecosystem restoration and monitoring through a collaborative conservation partnership initiative.
