Tending the Native Plant Nursery
Saturday, June 9, Ashland, 9 a.m. – noon
Join us for a volunteer day of service tending the trees, plants, and shrubs in Lomakatsi’s Native Plant Nursery. Learn about the native plants that are used in restoration prescriptions throughout Oregon and Northern California. You can help the plants thrive through the summer by volunteering to do maintenance at the Lomakatsi Native Plant Nursery.
Lomakatsi’s native plant shade house nurseries are essential components of our our Restoration Ecology Education and Riparian Restoration Programs. Over the years, students and community members have assisted in the growing, care, and planting of thousands of native trees and shrubs. Through the nurseries students learn botany and plant care. These native species are then used in streamside forest restoration projects in the Rogue Valley. Your volunteer efforts at the nursery will ensure the plants are healthy when they’re needed for future projects.
This volunteer event is FREE and everyone is welcome to come join in a day of ecological restoration!
