Just before snow began to fall, our Riparian crew accomplished some revegetation and streambank restoration work in the South Obenchain Fire footprint in northern Jackson County. The crew planted a variety of native willows and shrubs to stabilize the streambank along Rock Creek and removed some remaining hazard trees in the area to be placed in-stream to slow water flow, improving spawning habitat for aquatic species. We’re grateful for this crew’s dedicated and impactful work in what are sometimes cold and challenging conditions!
