We’re excited to share that Lomakatsi is set to receive $500,000 in federal funding for the Jacksonville Community Wildfire Protection Project, through the efforts of Oregon Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden on an omnibus congressional appropriations bill. This funding supports fuels reduction work around the town of Jacksonville Oregon in partnership with Jacksonville Fire Department and Rogue Forest Partners, as part of the larger West Bear All-Lands Restoration Project.
We’re grateful for the leadership of Senators Merkley and Wyden in supporting forest restoration and fuels reduction, to help make our communities and ecosystems more resilient.

Check out this KOBI-TV NBC5 segment about the funding featuring an interview with Lomakatsi Executive Director Marko Bey and Chief Wayne Painter of JFD: https://kobi5.com/…/sen-merkley-details-how-omnibus…/
