Starting from the ground up, Aaron has worked for Lomakatsi since 1998 in variety of capacities throughout the organization. As the Restoration Operations Director, he currently manages many contracted projects and active partner initiatives for Lomakatsi’s Restoration Program. He directs staff resources to facilitate planning, design and implementation on a multitude of Lomakatsi’s restoration operations, as well as working with landowners recruited into Lomakatsi’s private lands fuel reduction programs. He also serves as an agency and partner liaison to assist in the planning, layout, design, inspection and reporting for active projects.
Prior to Aaron’s current position, he served as a Contracting and Workforce Supervisor from 2010, and previously as Lomakatsi Restoration Crew Manager from 2005 for planting, thinning, hand piling and prescribed fire operations. From 2002-2005, Aaron managed and assisted in the development of Lomakatsi’s native plant shade house nurseries. Aaron has extensive experience managing the implementation of complex silvicultural prescriptions for fuels reduction, forest health and wildlife habitat enhancement projects. Aaron is an avid outdoor recreationalist and enjoys whitewater boating, mountain biking and cross-country skiing.
