Shop Manager

As Lomakatsi’s Shop Manager, Ben maintains and repairs Lomakatsi’s work trucks and equipment for our restoration work crews. He also provides general handyman skills to our office and continually proves himself to be a remarkable fleet mechanic and equipment manager.

Ben grew up in the Rogue Valley working with his father and his friends fixing trucks and cars, and learning carpentry. After studying mechanics and detailing work in high school he joined the Carpenters Union. Ben worked on commercial construction projects in the Bay Area for a year before moving back to Ashland where he worked on residential construction sites, as well as working for Plant Oregon and Small Creek Farm in Talent doing tree planting, irrigation, maintenance and restoration work. Ben was hired as Lomakatsi’s Shop Manager in early 2017, and quickly picked up the ability to fix and maintain chainsaws by rebuilding a saw from scratch.

Ben enjoys snowboarding and skiing, and has been recreating on the slopes of Mt Ashland since age 12. He enjoys all kinds of outdoor sports, including mountain biking and freestyle BMX, and anything else that gets him outside.
