Tribal Crew Support Associate

As Tribal Crew Support Associate, Carl restores forest health through ecological thinning, hand piling, and controlled burning, and serves a vital role ensuring daily transportation for Lomakatsi’s young adult training crews to and from work units across southern Oregon and northern California. Carl is an enrolled member of The Klamath Tribes and descendant of the Klamath and Modoc peoples.   

Carl joined the Lomakatsi team in September 2022 and earned certifications as a Firefighter Type 2, including Wildland Fire Chainsaw operation, First Aid/CPR, and Wildland Fire Incident Qualifications as standardized by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group. He is also a certified Cultural Monitor. Carl’s favorite part of the job is being outdoors with his crew. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
