Evan Corrales
Lead Ecological Forester
As Lead Ecological Forester, Evan Corrales develops forest prescriptions, manages project workflow, coordinates with partners, and provides technical assistance, information, and guidance as part of the restoration forestry team.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Forestry and Natural Resources from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Evan has two years of experience working for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Mendocino County, California, seven years with the Bureau of Land Management in Medford, Oregon, as a silviculturist, and additional experience as a forester with Humboldt Redwood Company. He has led a variety of projects from timber production to ecological forestry, and formed a strong regional network in these fields.
Evan joined the Lomakatsi team in October 2022, bringing both field and technical experience to bolster team capacity to organize, coordinate, and implement projects from start to finish. In his role, Evan most values seeing the impact of ecologically beneficial prescriptions on the landscape, where a combination of dry mixed-conifer forests, oak woodlands, and plant communities form diverse and unique ecosystems, and bring together a spectrum of people and organizations across all lands. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking with his dog, surfing, skiing, running, and keeping fit at the gym.
