Justin Moore

Stewardship Forester / GIS Specialist

Justin serves as Lomakatsi’s Stewardship Forester and GIS Specialist, supporting ecological forestry planning and monitoring through project design, spatial data management, and restoration tracking. Working remotely from Roanoke, Virginia, he collaborates closely with field staff and partners to ensure high-quality implementation across diverse forest types.

Originally from Northeast Ohio, Justin grew up next to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, where his interest in forests and wildlife first took root. He holds a B.S. in Biology from The University of Akron and gained early forestry experience as a timber cruiser with the U.S. Forest Service in Escalante, Utah, and as a forestry technician with the City of Dublin, Ohio.

Justin joined Lomakatsi in Spring 2017 after relocating to Southern Oregon. Over the years, he has contributed to a wide range of restoration projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. He continues to support Lomakatsi’s mission from afar by advancing GIS systems, refining monitoring tools, and mentoring new staff.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding, bird watching, and volunteering with wildlife rehabilitation efforts.
