Restoration Technician & Youth Crew Leader

Liam helps manage Lomakatsi’s Ecological Workforce Training Program and works on a variety of riparian and watershed restoration projects.

A graduate of the first Lomakatsi Ashland Watershed Youth Training and Employment Program in 2013, Liam moved to Eugene for three years where he worked for Walama Restoration Project as a restoration technician, sawyer, and crew leader. Liam helped coordinate a large understory restoration project at Mt. Hood National Forest, where a Walama crew removed invasive species, collected and propagated native seeds, and created a pollinator garden.

Liam has worked throughout the southern Willamette Valley, including conducting surveys of invasive grasses on the Siuslaw Estuary, surveying Monarch butterfly and milkweed in the upland meadows of the Cascade Range, and a variety of urban streamside restoration projects.

Liam is excited to have moved his family back to Ashland to work for Lomakatsi, where he can continue restoring the forests and streams of Oregon and Northern California.
