Ryan Puckett

Tribal Ecological Forestry Crew Manager

Ryan Puckett has been with Lomakatsi since 2008, supporting ecological restoration efforts through a variety of roles. Originally part of Lomakatsi’s labor restoration workforce, Ryan was a sawyer for a number of years, eventually becoming Lead Workforce Trainer, then Restoration Technician Manager, and now Tribal Ecological Forestry Crew Manager. As the needs of the organization increased, Ryan was able to transition into the technical side of restoration. With mentoring from Lomakatsi technicians and partners he was soon helping with different stewardship projects throughout Oregon.

Ryan now provides leadership, training and oversight of field crews to conduct ecological thinning, prescribed fire, project design, layout, and field inventory collection. To ensure quality, safety, and prescriptive qualifications are met, he also conducts field inspections of Lomakatsi’s labor and technical workforce, as well as subcontractors. In addition, Ryan provides technical assistance for our Riparian and Educational programs. Having lived in Southern Oregon for almost 20 years, Ryan is proud to serve his community through Lomakatsi. Ryan lives in Talent with his wife and three children.
