Make a difference this summer! Put on your boots and learn ecological restoration skills.
Using the Illinois Valley as an outdoor classroom, participants in this program will gain valuable workforce experience and learn about the career paths in natural resources, ecosystem restoration, science and ecology.
Under the guidance of Lomakatsi’s professional workforce trainers and environmental educators, as well as guest presentations by natural resource specialists, participants will take part in stewardship related activities that include: ecological restoration, technical forestry, ecological monitoring, watershed management, invasive species management, soil science, botany, fire ecology, wildlife habitat, trail maintenance, and more!
When: June 18 through July 17, 2018
Where: Project work sites are in the Illinois Valley (rideshare provided from Grants Pass and Cave Junction)
Pay: $11 per hour
Schedule: Four 8-hour days per week (not including travel to Cave Junction meeting spot), Monday through Thursday (32 hours per week).
Who Can Apply: Juniors and Seniors from the Illinois Valley.
